Learn More About Karen

Prestige 3

Welcome to my self interview where I shall spill the beans about myself.

Still reading?

Hmm, you must have a reason to want to get to know me. That’s interesting.

Since you’ve persevered, I will tell you a little about myself.

I’m the tenth of ten children. While I am very grateful my parents had ten kids, my husband and I only ended up with four amazing children of our own. I hope they all grow up to be Christlike adults who give me oodles of grandbabies.

I’ve had a penchant for words since I learned to tell the difference between the letters b and d. I grew up with my nose in a book. During the summer my next three oldest siblings and I pulled our radio flyer to the public library and back. Our combined piles of books wobbled and threatened to fall with every bump in the sidewalk. We devoured our books, and if Mom didn’t take us back fast enough, we made the trek again.

My writing journey started in tenth grade when we did a semester of short stories. It garnered steam in my Creative Writing class as a senior. Then in college I focused on historical analysis and the occasional critical essay over English Literature. I returned to fiction while I lived in Guatemala by penning a mystery novella. In 2015 my writing become more intentional after I kept myself awake on a drive to and from Utah by creating a story around an intriguing incident. By the time I got home I had to write it. I’ve been writing ever since.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have a firm testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice. I’m a believer in faith, hope, and charity. I chose to write inspiration fiction because I want that knowledge to be reflected in my stories. No matter how dire the circumstances, good will always triumph in the end!

  1. My sweet friend! You are truly an inspiration to me. I am taking a “Write my Story” class this fall at our community college, and hope it will stimulate my thinking so that I may leave my “footsteps” on paper for my children and grandchildren. Were you able to find a publisher? If not, I have seen one advertised that you might try. let me know and I will find the ad..send info along. My love to you and the family always, Koleta Wells,
